The modern premises were built in 1997 after the original building became unsafe and beyond repair. The original building dated from 1865 and was called Leigh Memorial Methodist Church, after Rev Samuel Leigh who was born in Milton but left to become the first Methodist Missionary to Australia and New Zealand.
Breaking News!
“Our church has hosted a Covid 19 vaccination centre for over 12 months, during which time over 160,000 jabs were administered thanks to pharmacy staff and volunteers from our church and the community.
We are pleased to have played our part in being of practical service to the people of Milton and far beyond, and we are delighted that the vaccination campaign was so successful that our premises are no longer needed. We look forward to welcoming people back into our building for community activities throughout the week.
Last November we invited our local school and community to come and plant daffodils in memory of those family and friends who had died during the last 2 years and look at our wonderful heart of daffodils now in full bloom.”
